Precollege Residential Assistant (UCLA Summer Sessions)

Enthusiastic and responsible UCLA undergraduates wanted! UCLA Summer Sessions is seeking Precollege Residential Assistants (PRAs) to supervise and lead fun activities for high school students in Summer 2023.
 
PRAs will promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for our visiting high school students, the majority of whom are enrolled in the Summer College Immersion Program - SCIP.

PRAs work 19 hours per week which perfectly pairs with taking a Summer Session A course.
 
There are three different types of positions we will be hiring within the same interview process including the following:

Precollege Residential Assistant (PRA) $17/hr
  • Assists with residential check-in and check-out
  • Performs nightly curfew checks and occasional wellness checks
  • Responds to conflicts or incident reports
  • Leads fun cohort bonding activities

Summer Experience Leader (SEL) $18/hr
  • All duties from the PRA position
  • Acts as supervisors to the PRAs
  • Serves as main point of contact for larger conflicts or emergencies
  • Coordinates shift/scheduling changes
  • Reports to Summer Sessions contact, if needed

Summer College Immersion Program (SCIP) Intern $18/hr
  • All duties from the SEL position
  • Oversees SCIP students in a more academic setting
  • Assistance in attendance, check-ins, and projects
  • Direct collaboration with Summer Sessions contact
 
Benefits:

·        Salary: $17 - $18 per hour (depends on position)
 
Must be available to live in the UCLA Residence Halls full-time from June 25 – August 5. Experience with high school or younger students is highly encouraged, but not required to apply.

Zoom interviews will be 30 minutes in length and scheduled via email. Trainings for selected applicants will begin the week of June 12; expect to work 4-8 hours in the two weeks prior to the start of summer.
 
Note: You may include your preference for position (PRA, SEL, or SCIP), however, if chosen we will share the position we feel you are best suited for during the hiring process. This position is offered through UCLA Summer Sessions, not the Office of Residential Life.
